The Casino Rama Hotel project was more than just an 18-month project for Modern Niagara. It was an opportunity to be part of the overall success of the casino's strategy to attract overnight patrons. The 289 suite, fully serviced hotel stands grandly over the adjoining entertainment centre and casino.
No luxury was spared at the hotel. Extraordinary features such as the waterfall in the lobby and the gas fireplaces in every suite demonstrate this commitment. The Modern Niagara crew, which consisted of 40 men at peak, was led by Project Manager, Scott Walden, P. Eng. Scott managed the $15 million dollar mechanical budget for this 4 star hotel impeccably.
The building, which clearly shows it's native influences, has approximately 500,000 sq. ft. of usable area and stretches along the Mnjikaning Chippewa Land, 9 miles east of Orillia.
Modern Niagara was part of a first-rate construction team that consisted of the Owner - Rambots (Joint Venture of Rama and Vanbots), Architect - Webb Zerafa Menkes Housden, Consultant Team - The Mitchell Partnership, Crossey Engineering, all which were unique parts to the $265 million dollar development projects.
